This Lean Guru is responsible for driving Lean Transformation throughout their North American manufacturing plants, with a focus on the identification & elimination of waste and non-vale added activities. This position is an absolutely critical part of their North American Continuous Improvement Team and is considered a stepping-stone position for advancement opportunities within the company.

Core responsibilities:

 

Will have supervisory responsibility for Lean Engineers, focusing on Lean Transformation, Process Improvement Global Standards and Training

 

Provide strong leadership to implement & sustain their Continuous Improvement strategy

 

Is the catalyst for planning and execution of a Lean Transformation at manufacturing facilities located throughout North America, the bulk of which are located in the US

 

Teach, coach and mentor local Plant Management teams and employees in Lean Manufacturing, facilitating change management at the sitesrformance results and key metrics in the elimination of waste

 

Achieve targeted continuous improvement savings at assigned sites, managing the implementation of projects and lean initiatives with teams

 

Lead Kaizen events with a "hands-on" approach

 

Champion effective on-going communication throughout the organization on the implementation of lean thinking and best practices to advance lean competencies

 

Tracks, measures and reports progress on improvements using standard key performance indicators

 

Requirements:

 

A minimum of 5 years of experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and driving Lean Transformation within multiple locations

 

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with a strong preference for a technical discipline with working knowledge of Lean Operating Systems (like the Toyota Production System)

Experience leading and facilitating numerous Kaizen & Value Stream Mapping events

 

Strong working knowledge of Lean tools & methodologies which include Standard Work, Value Stream Management, 5S, TPM, Material Replenishment, etc...

 

Business acumen along with exemplary communication at all levels, written and verbal

 

Proven track record of results at implementing change at all levels within an organization

 

Must have a results-oriented leadership style with strong influencing skills, is a Systems Thinker - ability to see and understand the overall picture

 

Must be a credible coach, mentor & teacher to all levels within an organization, from the shop floor to senior leadership

 

Strong proficiency with PC software required (Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project and Power Point)

 

Ability & willingness to travel as required
