An exceptional, high-volume automotive component manufacturer located in the Jackson, MS area has an immediate need for an Engineering Manager. In this position, you will direct all Technical and Engineering functions in the assembly of electrical communications systems providing the complete design, manufacturing, and assembly of vehicle electrical components leading a team of manufacturing engineers and Process Planning Engineers. Core Responsibilities:

  • Will manage a staff of manufacturing engineers, directing their activities over a 3 shift operation
  • Focus on key metrics: safety, quality, delivery and production
  • Evaluate capabilities and the performance of all technical personnel develop action plans to drive improvement / training
  • Maintain equipment performance, ensuring daily production goals are met
  • Analyze manufacturing efficiency and oversee development of cost reduction plans
  • Participate in the annual business planning process
  • Lead cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis of all defects and drive the resulting mistake proofing efforts
  • Drive all Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement activities
  • Partner with Product Engineering on all new model launches to ensure equipment is ready for mass production

Essential Requirements:

  • BS degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 7 years of technical / engineering management experience, leading technical functions in a high volume manufacturing
  • Experience in troubleshooting & equipment maintenance
  • Commitment to safety and the well-being of all employees
  • Ability to communicate well, both written and verbally, along with exceptional problem solving skills
  • Can manage in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities with a strong attention to detail
  • Must come from the automotive industry and ideally have some SMT Surface-mount technology and assembly experience
