Master Scheduler

 

We have an exciting opportunity with a company that has been in business for over 100 years and is a premier manufacturer of large, metal fabricated components for the transportation industry. They have an immediate need for a Master Scheduler to be based at their newly acquired, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that's located in a beautiful area of Northern Alabama.

 

As a key part of the plant leadership team, the Master Scheduler is responsible for creating, executing and monitoring the daily schedule based on production needs. Duties include: forecasting, manpower planning, and sales, inventory & operations planning. Additionally, as this company continues to grow, they need someone who can help modernize their MRP system. Responsibilities:

  • Create and organize a daily production schedule, making sure every output is appropriately recorded
  • Coordinate activities and direct employees to ensure that deadlines are met on time
  • Track, analyze and report the critical KPI's, suggesting & implementing specific improvement activities
  • Determine the correct amount of manpower needed
  • Coordinate with sales, operations and purchasing
  • SIOP - Sales Inventory & Operations Planning
  • Monitor inventory and raw materials, working closely with Supply Chain and Purchasing in order to prevent any shortages or delays in manufacturing
  • Streamline processes for sales and operations to maximize output efficiency
  • Track and manage the accuracy and effectiveness of the master schedule to adjust forecasts to continuously improve the overall scheduling process
  • Demand planning
  • Improve the existing MRP system to meet current demand


Requirements:

  • MUST HAVE a Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain or Business (Masters degree preferred)
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive manufacturing experience in a multi-shift manufacturing operation with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a planning/master scheduling position
  • MRP software experience and MRP implementation experience a strong plus
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to pass pertinent information to both customers and employees
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Minitab) as well as organization and time management/leadership skills required
  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement
