Sales Development Manager

 

Position Summary:

 

The Sales Development Manager is responsible for managing current business and new business sales by developing, maintaining, and growing automotive OE and Tier accounts leading to gains in revenue, profitability and market penetration.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develops strategic plans for existing and new Automotive OE’s and Tier Accounts including account objectives, strategic contacts, competitive landscape, SWOT analysis
  • Manage all aspects of New Business / Replacement Business
  • Responsible for the initiation, price approval and negotiation phases of the quote process
  • Documents and translates customer needs into quote process working with inside sales, engineering and quality
  • Prepare reports on sales activity, market trends, operational challenges, competitors’ actions, new product developments and standard part activity
  • Subject matter expert as internal contact for technical specifications for systems & processes

Qualifications Required

  • Relationship management skills to effectively interface with a multiple external and internal customers
  • Ability to sell based on value rather than price
  • Technical aptitude related to products & process capabilities as solutions to specific needs of customers
  • Ability to maintain a high level of sustained activity, manage multiple opportunities and deliver multiyear program awards in accordance with established objectives
  • Exceptional presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills
  • Positive attitude and works well with minimal supervision.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel, up to 60% of the time

Preferred

  • BS degree in a technical discipline or business
  • 5+ years outside sales experience having direct customer interface with Honda or Toyota
  • Product experience in engineered and/or customized solutions with large customers
  • Experience selling NVH products and/or component parts
  • Sales experience selling to US and Mexico-based Automotive OE’s and Tiered Suppliers
