As the Associate Director of Distribution & Logistics, you'll play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency and strategic initiatives within their Indiana facilities. Reporting directly to the Director of Distribution & Logistics, this position offers immense career potential for individuals with a passion for leadership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership: Champion a culture of safety excellence, ensuring strict adherence to all regulations and standards while fostering a collaborative environment where employee well-being is paramount.
On-Time Delivery Excellence: Lead efforts to ensure on-time delivery of parts and equipment orders, surpassing customer expectations and setting new benchmarks for service excellence.
Strategic Optimization: Collaborate on warehouse design and layout analysis, presenting innovative plans to optimize operations and drive efficiency.
Inventory Management: Oversee inventory processes, implementing best practices for accuracy and efficiency while proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
Traffic Function Mastery: Take charge of all traffic-related functions, including inbound/outbound optimization, route utilization, and carrier selection, positioning yourself as a key driver of supply chain success.
Cost Efficiency: Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities, leveraging your expertise in best-in-class methodologies to drive savings and maximize profitability.
Metrics-Driven Approach: Develop and monitor metrics to ensure accuracy in receiving and establish productivity standards for parts picking and shipping, paving the way for data-driven decision-making.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in product planning and development, driving process improvements in parts and shipping areas to enhance cost, efficiency, and productivity.
Lean Manufacturing Leadership: Lead the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles, spearheading initiatives to eliminate waste and optimize operational processes.
Overall Qualifications – Skills and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required with a preference for Industrial Engineering
Experience: 5 to 7 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, coupled with extensive knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures. Strong PC skills and a dedication to continuous improvement are essential, with experience in ISO9000 operating principles preferred.
Focus: Strong data analytics and presentation skills. Experience with Oracle is a plus.
